Kobane renamed Ayn al Islam by Islamic State

Kobane has been renamed Ayn al Islam by the Islamic State of the Caliph, which presumably means 'The Other Islam'. The place has allways had a strange name. Kobani is a corrupt word and arabization of Kompany; there is no p in arabic so the Kopan-e became Koban-e. Another company town.

The Syrians renamed it Ayn al Arab meaning ironically The Arab Spring. Another appropriate name for this area of Kurdish revolt backed now by feminists. As both 'Spring' and Arab are the same word arab in arabic, a trick is used here unknown to many other arab speakers; but known to the Syrians. Ayn means second and here is used as 'The Second of/with al Arab, ie Spring of; which you cannot do in English. Now after the Angel Delight of the feminists ran for safety to Turkey, where she is safe and well, the reoccupiers of most of the area have renamed it again: Ayn al Islam. This means The Other Islam (second Islam), as the Caliphate is said to be. Or beyond it, is to them.

Haltor may have not yet left but I know the place as Ayn al Ulak meaning 'Both Ulaks'. That is a mystery. Coming soon to 'Ayn al' will then be the Caliph's traffic police who have made an appearance in Nineveh Wiliyat. And a new if monotonous paint job;
