'Dozens
of volunteers gathered in the Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday to
take part in an event aimed at beautifying different neighborhoods of
the city.
Nussour Souria or Syria’s Eagles is the group behind
this initiative. The first location was a crowded and popular bus
station under al-Raees Bridge. Volunteers began their work by
removing posters, and painted the walls ... They then drew garbage bags
and distributed fliers to raise environmental awareness. Instructions
were written on the stairs to remind all passersby to throw their
garbage into trash cans and keep the city clean. Activities
also covered cleaning parts of Barada River that runs through Damascus.
The Syrian government provided the needed vehicles and assistance. ...'Job done.
